OK. I finally signed up for a profile here at ANN. The problem I'm having is that I can't get to the forum from an article. For example, when I click on "discuss this in the forum" i get an error message in my browser that says that the website has declined to show the web page. It doesn't matter if I'm signed in or not. Can someone tell me if I'm doing somethig wrong or if I need to fix something or what?

Good to here that I'm not the only one. "Error 403" is one I've never seen before.

Sorry, you're right. It actually says HTTP 403 Forbidden. But that's what it is doing.

I'm getting the message "You do not have access to the admin area" when clicking the "discuss this in the forum" link for the latest AnswerMan column.

I'm getting that one too, although I can get to the Answerman thread through the forums. I thought maybe the article had somehow got linked to something in the mysterious staff forum by accident, but if Zalis can't see it either then I guess not.

I got this error a couple times. I just refreshed a few times and eventually it worked. I usually find that to be the case with ANN.

OK. I'm off to try the refreshing trick.
edit: I tried the refreshing trick. I refreshed a few times and I got an "Error 500: Internal Server Error" and then "you do not have access to the admin area"

And I don't have access to the "admin area" of the forums either, which is the control panel that can ban people, set wordfilters, create/remove sections, change permissions, etc.

It seems like it only happens with the "Discuss in forums" links. I can still get into Answerman's talkback for instance.
It seemed to start not too long after the Toei to Launch "All You Can Watch" Anime Service in Japan article went up.

Furthermore, I have been experiencing forum issues about a few days now. However, the Answerman column is the part where got me thinking it's the site, not my browsers.
Further note: the RSS Feed has stopped working. Something is up around this site.
