I'm looking for a anime series' title. I say it about a year ago and would like and try to find it again, unfortunately I cant remember the name.

it was a Space type show, were in the universe there were are to species. One is human like except all look female. Then there is the other species which is not human like (but all sound like men). both species are at war with each other which seems destined to end all life every. fortunately a ship defend a plant that may hold the key to bring pace to the universe.
I know it sounds a little thick and its not the best show ever but i would like to see the end.
its a older anime or at lest it in the style of the older one like form the 80s or 90s.
if you know it name or can help please full free to share.
