Old News-Angel Links ending?

Question So, yeah, while I know Angel Links is dated, can anyone explain to me the end of the last episode of Angel Links?
Spoiler alerts will probable be necessary.

As in, spoiler[did the heroine kick the bucket, become worm food, get put to sleep, etc?] Embarassed

spoiler[She was designed to live no more then 16 years, hence her gravestone shown earlier. So she simply "died", very sad, but she did seem happy in the end.]

They series creators did it very gently. Besides, it was clear the series was going nowhere. And there is no interest out there for a continuation of it. Now Outlaw Star 2...that's a whole new discussion.
