Hm...out of a vague curiosity, does anyone happen to know if Media Blasters has said anything about a Kyoto Arc box set for Rurouni Kenshin?

Like IF they are releasing one? Or WHEN? I could have sworn there was something mentioned on ANN earlier...like in a con report or something...about them releasing the entire series in box sets...

Well, they're releasing the "Wandering Samurai" Arc (could that title BE more erroneous?) in a box set, so I figured that -- especially since the Kyoto Arc is the most popular of them -- a Kyoto box would eventually follow (as would the rest of the series). However, I've heard nothing about it.

Perhaps they're waiting to see the sales on the first box set, to see if it'll warrant a release of a second box? However, like you said, since the Kyoto arc is the most popular, it'd be wrong to base anything off the first, so... blah.

Hellsing's a tad on the twisted side today, ne? Rolling Eyes

What I would like to see is the rest of the series animated!
As for the box sets, I've only heard about the Premium Box sets with extras that came out this month. I'm sure they'll release the Kyoto Arc soon after.
I can't wait! Anime exclamation
