Perhaps the answerman could use this as a reply to those people looking to get into the anime/manga industry...hell even those trying to get their manga/anime made would probably find it a lot easier to do if they are working for a company highly involved in the given media...even if it's just through connections.

Wow, I wonder if Tokyopop would be willing to hire someone who would have to relocate in order to take the Receptionist position. I certainly would be willing to move out there.

Yep, they're based in downtown L.A.

And Viz is in San Francisco, for those interested.

5900 Wilshire (at Fairfax) is a fairly loose definition of "downtown LA". But definitely "LA metro area"

Only in LA? Arrgh, damn you! Not that I was in anyway qualified for any of these positions, but it's the principle of the thing! Smile

From our 20th-floor windows, we have beautiful views of downtown L.A. to the east (and the orange haze of Santa-Ana-winds-driven smog), the Hollywood sign to the north, and the glimmer of the ocean to the southwest, and we look down upon the lovely La Brea tar pits and the bizarre lamppost forest at the new section of the LAC Museum of Art.

Tokyopop should at least also consider hiring subject matter experts... I lost count of how many times I laughed while reading the Full Metal Panic novels... their military knowledge is very minimal, if not, non-existent. There were so many errors when concerning military tradition, rank structure, among other things. It's a shame, too, because they did a good job with the translation.
