This has probably been worked to death, but after reading the article on the site, I have to ask how Disney wound up calling the shots.
Do they own SPJA or the hotel? SPJA should have final say over what is shown and not cave in to anyone, unless they own the hotel.
Furthermore, what is SPJA doing business with Disney for? Anyone remember Nausicaa? How about the extremely poor marketing campaign for Mononoke? I wouldn't trust Disney as far as I could throw them with anime.

Second guess was correct. Disney owned the hotel.

As Tempest said, Disney owned the hotel. It was held at Disneyland and all...

Well, I'm not going to answer that question.. But I am gonna provide some information for other people who might want a few more links about the problem we're discussing. :)

1. http://groups.google.com/groups?q=g:thl888966540d&hl=en&selm=smumcoevnd675%40corp.supernews.com

this is a link describing what, exactly, happened (from the point of mike tatsugawa, the guy in charge of AX and SPJA)

2. http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&th=96b08b9e2397d8bd&seekm=8ldjp0%242p8%241%40nnrp1.deja.com

Here's more discussion from Mike...

3. http://www.jlist.com/response.html

.. and Peter Payne's response.

4. http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&selm=snnsnot9jjt7%40corp.supernews.com&rnum=1

That's the final word from Mike on the matter.

...

Yeah.

So, the whole thing is basically heresay anymore, since no one can PROVE anything. THere weren't video tapes or audio tapes made of the ongoing matters. No reporters were present, etc.

(EDIT: Har, har. I goofed. No, I didn't get kicked out of the area by an AX staffer. I, along with a bazillion other people, were asked to leave a different area for reasons unrelated to the JList/SPJA Hentai thing. Stupid me -- I should've looked at the floor map before posting..)

Basically... the whole thing was ONE BIG MESS. :p
