When this was being advertised here, the box's resemblance to the 30th anniversary Monster Maker package made me briefly think we were finally getting an official MM release in English. I mean, this is sort of that...
That version has Ryo Hirao on art (Legend of Legacy/Alliance Alive), but I found the original mainly on account of Kugatsuhime's artwork for it and the various follow ups (I became familiar with her from Game Gear's Crystal Warriors/Ariel and Royal Stone). I'm sure this is almost certainly a licensed one-off, especially since Yen Press doesn't normally release games of any kind, but I sorta hope this boosts interest in the original Monster Maker a bit. |
