Please don't let there be a Speed Racer-type lawsuit over ownership rights...

I don't think there would be, if this was announced that means Harmony Gold must've allowed this to proceed without any issue.

I doubt it, since this is happening via Big West (i.e. the original licensor) & I imagine BW wouldn't be showing it if the rights weren't finally ironed out for international purposes.

They managed to untangle the Gordian’s Knot that was DYRL’s licensing? Wow.

Does that mean DYRL might get released in the US?

Macross DYRL is one of my all time favorite classics and I never thought something like this would happen so I hope this means we have a chance for a physical release.

I wish but highly doubtful. You have to remember Harmony Gold is involved. Those bastards are anti-fun and unreasonable.

Harmony Gold is only involved with the original Macross series and all the legal issues of Harmony Gold blocking other Macross titles has been resolved. The legal dispute with DYRL is an entirely separate dispute between Toho, Big West, and Tatsunoko over the rights to Macross.

Main reason I imported the DYRL 4K Blu-ray which has English subs.

I understand and know that. But for decades the have sat on their ass and have done nothing and i mean nothing with the rights.A whole generation has passed and what have they done with robotech.Nothing.My comment still stands in regards to Harmony Gold.

I mean they were trying to get a hollywood movie going for awhile so it's not that they weren't doing anything but just failing to do something with it. But yeah totally **** Harmony Gold.

Ok so why did you post that Harmony Gold was involved over the DYRL rights if you knew the real reason?

For decades they blocked so much Macross material "protecting" their material.Instead of trying to help get the material released here in the United States. Then all of a sudden they had a change of heart. That is highly suspect in my book.
Plus look what they have done with Robotech.Re-Release a lot the same material. Most of the new material they have released isn't cannon. They one cannon material and that was 20 years ago.And they continue to do nothing.
For what robotech did at the time it was released was a good thing. But it has remained stuck in the past and continue to rest on it's laurels. The community and people have grown past it.
