Bandai Namco Has No Plans for Western Release of Taiko Drum Controllers for Taiko no Tatsujin Games

posted on by Alex Mateo

Bandai Namco confirmed with rhythm game news website Bemani Style that it has no plans to release the Hori Taiko Drum Controllers for its upcoming Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun! (Taiko no Tatsujin: Nintendo Switch Version!) Nintendo Switch game and Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session! (Taiko no Tatsujin: Session de Dodon ga Don!) PlayStation 4 game. The games will be available digitally only.

Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun! and Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session! ship in the Americas and Europe on November 2.

Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun! shipped for the Nintendo Switch in Japan on July 19. The game will get an English release in Southeast Asia on August 9.

When Bandai Namco Entertainment last released an installment in the franchise for PlayStation 2 under the title Taiko Drum Master, the release included the taiko drum and bachi. The drum controllers are intended to simulate the Taiko no Tatsujin arcade games' drums.
