Trivia:

This pilot was produced by the same staff as the movie Saint Seiya Tenkai-hen Jousou~overture~, and was only released on DVD by way of a mail order offer in Super Jump in 2004. Included on the DVD alongside the pilot was an interview with Masami Kurumada about the pilot itself, a "History of Ring ni Kakero 1" video narrated by Kazuya Nakai, & an advertisement for the Seiya movie.

All of the music in this pilot is simply taken from Seiji Yokoyama's work from Saint Seiya.

While the TV series that spawned from this pilot never saw an English adaptation, the pilot did receive an English dub, as indicated by voice actor Michael Coleman's website. The dub was likely made solely for showcasing to potential companies who might want to license the TV anime, and Ocean's listing of dub work also mentions creating a promotional video for the TV series, lending more credence for it being a promotional-only dub.
