Ichirô Nagai, Katsuji Mori, Jouji Yanami, Keiichi Noda, Rihoko Yoshida, Hiroshi Ohtake, & Hiroshi Masuoka were the only voice actors from the 1968 TV series to have provided voice work for this series.

The first new Cyborg 009 TV anime series in 11 years.

The first Cyborg 009 TV anime to depict Cyborg 007 as a middle aged man instead of a nine year old boy.

The first Cyborg 009 TV anime in which all nine members of the 00 Cyborg team are wearing a red uniform.

In episode 2 marks the first episode in which Cyborg 002, 006, 007, & 008 make an appearance but have no lines of dialogue.

The Scandinavian location featured in episode 2, known as Sandnessjøen was a real life trade post located within Norway. It was an administrative centre of the Alstahaug Municipality that was granted special trading privileges during the late 17th century. It wasn’t granted a township until the year 1999, 20 years after this episode aired.

In episode 6 marks the first episode that doesn’t feature or involve a fight with a stone giant.

The Transvaal Province mentioned in episode 6, was a former region of South Africa that ceased to exist by the year 1994, as its areas were divided up into four Provinces: Limpopo, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and North-West. Mining was one of its strongest points of trade, having rich deposits of gold and uranium as its main export. The region despite the changes in its name, is also rich in deposits of other minerals and precious resources such as platinum and diamonds.

The rainbow Freya summons to ride up into the clouds in episode 6, resembles the Bifröst Bridge of Norse mythology.

In episode 8, marks the earliest episode in which Cyborg 001 doesn’t make an appearance.

In episode 8, despite that the events were a scheme of the Norse Gods, none of them actually make a physical appearance in this episode.

The plot in episode 9, is an adaptation of the Edda chapter of the Cyborg 009 manga.
