Trivia:

The character of acting teacher Kurotokage-sensei is a pastiche of the character of the great acting teacher Tsukikage, from the classic shoujo anime Glass Mask. Tobita Nobuo, the seiyuu for Kurotokage-sensei, also played a minor rôle in Glass Mask.

The ending of the anime contains many references to the first Tokimeki Memorial game. Riku is seen attending Tokimeki High as seen by the boys' and girls' uniforms and the similar looking school buildng. The ending also contains similar dialogue about relationships and the "legendary tree" as seen in the beginning of the first game's ova.

In episode 10 of Tokimeki Memorial, one of Aoba's jobs involves looking after a dog named L. This is likely a reference to the Death Note anime and manga, since Mamoru Miyano, Aoba's voice actor, also does the voice of Light Yagami in the Death Note anime.

The clumsy incinerator lady in episode 12 is obviously inspired by Belldandy from the Ah! My Goddess. Both characters are a goddess, similarly dressed, and are voiced by the same seiyuu, Kikuko Inoue.

In episode 17 when Aoba reaches the theater, a band in which one of the members is called "Metal Ryuk" appears and he has black wings on his back. This is likely a possible reference to the shinigami Ryuk of the Death Note anime.
