Yen Press to Take Part in Free Comic Book Day

Yen Press announced on Friday that it will take part in Free Comic Book Day by giving away the first chapter of its new Witch & Wizard series for free at comic book stores throughout the United States on May 7. The series is a manga-influenced adaptation of James Patterson's novel of the same name; artist Svetlana Chmakova (Dramacon, Nightschool) is adapting the series.

In past years, publishers such as Viz Media, Tokyopop, Drawn & Quarterly, Antarctic Press, and Del Rey have participated in Free Comic Book Day, although traditionally publishers have sampled their original works rather than licensed Japanese titles during the event. For 2011, Dark Horse Comics is presenting works that are not from Japan.
