Bakuman Gets Manga Creation Game for Nintendo DS

This year's 30th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced on Monday that Namco Bandai Games will release a Bakuman. game titled Bakuman.: Mangaka e no Michi (Bakuman: The Road to Becoming a Manga Artist) for the Nintendo DS. The official website for the game describes it as a "manga creator success adventure" game. In the game, players will be able to create their own manga. The game is slated to be released this fall in Japan.
The story of Bakuman., written by Tsugumi Ohba and drawn by Takeshi Obata — the co-creators of Death Note — involves Moritaka Mashiro, a junior high school student, who is persuaded to work towards becoming a manga creator with the encouragement of two classmates. Viz Media published the fifth volume of the manga in North America in June.
The manga inspired two seasons of anime, the second of which is slated to air this fall. Media Blasters announced last week that it had acquired both seasons of Bakuman. Media Blasters' AnimeWorks label will start releasing the anime on DVD this November with the first seven episodes and an English dub.
