Finnish Embassy Acknowledges Strike Witches

Embassy confirms knowledge of re-imagined WWII brothers in Strike Witches series

The Finnish embassy in Tokyo responded on Twitter on Sunday to a question posed about the Strike Witches anime franchise. The embassy was answering questions on its official Twitter account on Sunday, when a user named Mersu06 asked the embassy if Finland knew that an anime had re-imagined the Juutilainen brothers of World War II as two sisters "with big breasts who fight in underpants."

The embassy replied to the question stating that it "knew all about that."

The two Strike Witches television anime series and the upcoming March film are based on Humikane Shimada's mecha-girl illustrations. Funimation licensed both seasons of the series in North America.
