Last Flight for Pikachu Jumbo

posted on by Bamboo Dong
ANA's Boeing 747-400 took flight for the last time this Monday.

All Nippon Airways' yellow "Pikachu Jumbo" Boeing 747-400 made its last flight this Monday, arriving at Naha Airport. Debuted in 2004, the Pikachu Jumbo became popular amongst children, but the airline decided to retire it alongside other aging Boeing 747 jumbo jets.

ANA commissioned its very first Pokémon jet back in 1998, timed with the release of the Pokémon: The First Movie anime film. The flights included Pokémon-themed food containers, souvenir bags, entertainment, and crew uniforms.

YouTube has several uploaded videos of the Pikachu Jumbo in action.
