Oh The Irony

On December 9th this year, we reported that Pokémon was having some PR problems in Turkey! where the government ordered the privately operated ATV network to shut down for a day to discipline it for airing an episode of Pokémon (This event did not actually occur on December 9th).
Ironicly, December 9th is also the date, in 1997, when Stroboscopic effects in the "Computer Warrior Porygon" episode of Pokémon caused seizures in over 600 Japanese children. The issue was further exacerbated when Japanese news broadcasts replayed the problem causing segment while covering the story.
