Pokémon not quite dead yet, Japanese Box Office Charts
Opening on July 17th, Steamboy placed a respectable 4th over all at the Japanese Box office. Meanwhile Pokemon proved that it wasn't dead yet, at least in Japan, where the new Pokemon movie, Pocket Monster Advance Generation: 2004, also in its first week, beat Steamboy to 2nd at the box office.
In its fourth week on Japanese screens, Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban remained firmly on top of the box office, while Spider-Man 2 fell from 2nd to 3rd in its second week.
Umizaru, based on the manga of the same name, dropped out of the box office top ten for the first time since its release six weeks earlier.
