Funimation Hints at Gunslinger Girl -Il Teatrino- Anime

No official announcement made on Gunslinger Girl sequel

The North American distributor FUNimation Entertainment's website includes a mostly darkened-out silhouette of the Triela character from Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino- in a box reserved for a new title announcement. Funimation plans to make that announcement tomorrow. The silhouette can be seen by clicking on the "WHAT COULD IT BE?" icon on the website.

Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino- is the sequel to Gunslinger Girl, which Funimation released in North America starting in 2005. The anime is based on the manga by Yu Aida and follows a group of cyborg girls who work as government assassins. Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino- aired in Japan this year from January 7 to March 31.

Funimation has not officially announced the acquisition or release of this series.
