Angel Beats! to premiere in Japan in April, Eva 1.11's English BD/DVD ships on March 6

The official website for Visual Art's/Key and Aniplex's Angel Beats! television anime series has begun streaming a "making-of" promotional video on Friday. The 177-second video looks behind-the-scenes at the P.A. Works anime studio (CANAAN, True Tears) which is producing the project. Seiji Kishi (Magikano, My Bride is a Mermaid, Tentai Senshi Sunred) is directing off a story created by Jun Maeda. Katsuzo Hirata (Cosplay Complex, Hand Maid May) is overseeing the animation and adapting the original character designs by Na-Ga. Satoki Iida (Magikano, My Bride is a Mermaid, Tentai Senshi Sunred) is the sound director. The series will premiere in Japan in April.

The North American anime distributor Funimation has posted eight high-definition video clips from Hideaki Anno and Khara's Evangelion 1.11: You Are (Not) Alone (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Jo) film on Thursday. "Evangelion 1.11" is the name for the latest remastering of the first film in the four-part theatrical remake of Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion television anime. Funimation will ship the 1.11 version on DVD and Blu-ray on March 9.

The international streaming website GONG is hosting a pilot episode of Picograph's Tailenders project from Anime Innovation Tokyo (Cencoroll) in five parts. Anime Innovation Tokyo had already streamed a 90-second short trailer and a two-minute long trailer on its channel on the YouTube website last August. It also posted an earlier trailer on the same website in 2008. The company describes the plot of the anime as the following:

The destiny of Tomoe Shiro, a formidable racer with a very promising career, experiments an U-turn when a serious accident puts his life at stake. He recovers miraculously , though, when his heart is replaced with the engine of his own racing car. However, because of that very reason, race regulations demote him to the category of a mere mechanical part of the vehicle and is deprived from the right to participate as a pilot in regular races.

Only in a far away colonial planet, along with a multitude of other charismatic pilots also vetoed from participating in regular competitions, he will be given the opportunity to race for his pride and the money of the prize. And so this exciting rally starts!!
