The June issue of Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine is announcing on Wednesday that the upcoming television anime adaptation of Kiichi Hotta's high school comedy manga Kimi to Boku. will launch this October. The anime will have the following staff:
- Director: Mamoru Kanbe
- Series Script Supervisor: Reiko Yoshida
- Character Design: Masayuki Onji
- Art Director: Masatoshi Kai
- Music: Elements Garden
- Sound Director: Katsunori Shimizu
- Animation Production: J.C. Staff
The story revolves around four teens — the good-looking twins Yuta and Yuki Asaba, the effeminate Shun Matsuoka, and the class head Kaname Tsukahara — who have known each other since early childhood. While they are not necessarily good or bad friends, they continue to hang out well into high school. The half-Japanese transfer student Chizuru Tachibana joins the circle of friends in this comedy about the everyday life of adolescence.
The manga began in Gangan Powered magazine in 2004, and it moved to Monthly G Fantasy in 2009. The ninth compiled book volume shipped in November. The manga is unrelated to the similarly titled Flash anime and live-action film Kimi to Boku from Shigeto Yamagara.
