Japanese publisher Fujimi Shobo's Fantasia Bunko imprint announced on Tuesday that an anime adaptation project of Kōshi Tachibana's Date A Live light novel series is in the works. According to Fantasia Bunko, it has never planned an anime adaptation of one of its titles as quickly as this one. Tsunako illustrates this "new generation of boy-meets-girl" story.
In the story, a boy named Sido (Shidō) Itsuka meets a spirit girl who has been rejected by a devastated world. The girl, who Sido names "Tohka," happens to have wiped out much of humanity 30 years ago, and now she is back. The only way to stop her is to date her.
Tachibana launched the light novel series just this past March, and the third volume will ship on Saturday.
