Higashimura's Omo ni Naitemasu Gets Live-Action Show

posted on by Joseph First
Princess Jellyfish creator Akiko Higashimura's comedy about woman cursed by her beauty

Akiko Higashimura's Omo ni Naitemasu manga will be adapted into a live-action television series. The comedy is the tale of Izumi, a girl cursed by misfortune in spite of — or actually because of — her beauty.

In playing the show's character Izumi Kanno, model Nanao will take on her first lead role in a live-action television series. The cast also includes KAT-TUN idol group member Yūichi Nakamaru as Keisuke Akamatsu, Mayū Kusakari as Tsune Midorikawa, and Tōru Kazama as Jin Aoyama. Fuji TV's Ayako Ōki is producing the project.

The show will premiere on Fuji TV in July and air from 11:10 pm to 11:50 pm.

The manga itself runs in Kodansha's Morning magazine, although Higashimura went on temporary leave from this title and Kuragehime (Princess Jellyfish) this month after fracturing a finger. The Kuragehime manga inspired the 2010 Princess Jellyfish television anime series, which Funimation released in North America.
