WonderCon Returns to Anaheim, With 2nd Event Possible Up North

posted on by Egan Loo

Comic-Con International (CCI) revealed this past week that the WonderCon comic convention is slated to return to Anaheim, California for a second year on March 29-31, 2013 — but it may also return to Northern California in Fall of 2013.

The organization wanted to bring WonderCon back to San Francisco, its home for almost a decade, next year. However, the city's Moscone Convention Center said it had no spring dates available, but there might be a fall opening.

CCI decided to go ahead and hold a Anaheim convention in March. If a fall date does open up in San Francisco, CCI will hold a second event there as well. If so, the San Francisco Fall convention will be called WonderCon, and the Anaheim Spring convention will be given a new name.

This year, Japanese director and songwriter Hiroshi Matsuyama appeared at the convention during the "Namco Bandai Games Celebrates Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations" panel.
