Berserk's Toshiyuki Kubooka helms next PES work with Somarta fashion designer Tamae Hirokawa

Car maker Toyota and animation company Studio 4°C announced on Thursday that they are collaborating again on a new original anime tentatively titled "Chiisana Hana no Uta" (A Little Flower's Song). The first 2013 project of the two companies' ongoing PES: Peace Eco Smile initiative will center around the mystical "final flower spirit."

Toshiyuki Kubooka (Berserk: The Golden Age Arc film trilogy, Batman: Gotham Knight episode) is directing this project, and he also designed the flower spirit. Tamae Hirokawa of the fashion brand Somarta designed the spirit's outfit, while All Nippon Airways is collaborating on the project as part of its "Is Japan Cool?" campaign.

The project will debut early this summer.

Toyota and Studio 4°C already created a web promotional anime series last year, and they have been streaming the episodes online with English subtitles. For the new anime, Akiko Yajima (Crayon Shin-chan's title character) will repise her role of the mysterious lifeform NaSuBi from this earlier series.
