Ai Kayano, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka lead cast for April 9 anime

Media Factory began streaming the 30-second TV spot for the television anime of Yuu Kamiya's No Game, No Life light novel series. The video features the anime's opening theme song, "This game" by Konomi Suzuki (Dusk maiden of Amnesia, WATAMOTE).

The video introduces the story, with Shiro (Ai Kayano) saying that the anime revolves around two NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) siblings, Sora and Shiro (together, they are known as Kūhaku), who have entered an alternate world to save humanity from a looming disaster.

The story of No Game, No Life centers around Sora and Shiro, a brother and sister whose reputations as brilliant NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) hikikomori (shut-in) gamers have spawned urban legends all over the Internet. These two gamers even consider the real world as just another "crappy game." One day, they are summoned by a boy named "God" to an alternate world. There, God has prohibited war and declared this to be a world where "everything is decided by games" — even national borders. Humanity has been driven back into one remaining city by the other races. Will Sora and Shiro, the good-for-nothing brother and sister, become the "Saviors of Humanity" on this alternate world? "Well, let's start playing."

The cast includes:

Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Sora

Ai Kayano as Shiro

Yōko Hikasa as Stephanie Dora

Yukari Tamura as Jibril

Yuka Iguchi as Clammy Shell

Mamiko Noto as Feel Nilvalen

Miyuki Sawashiro as Izuna Hatsuse

Rie Kugimiya as Teto

Atsuko Ishizuka is directing the series at MADHOUSE with series composition by Jukki Hanada. Kōji Ōdate will be designing the characters and will also take the position of director of animation.

The anime will premiere on Japanese television on April 9.
