Play Comic Magazine Ceases Publication Next Month

The August issue of Akita Shoten's Play Comic magazine revealed on Wednesday that the magazine is suspending publication after its next issue, which ships on July 25. The magazine's August issue currently lists that it publishes the following manga:

Akita Shoten launched Play Comic in June 1968 as a bimonthly magazine, but then changed it to monthly in 2010. The magazine previously serialized Leiji Matsumoto's Space Pirate Captain Harlock manga from 1977 to 1979, and was the home of Osamu Tezuka's experimental manga The Book of Human Insects from 1970-1971.
