New releases from Manga Entertainment and Eureka

On Monday June 15th, Manga Entertainment will release a collected edition of the second season of K-ON! Animated by Kyoto Animation, these episodes continue the story of the Sakuragaoka Girl's High School's Light Music Club, as the four older members of the girl band approach the end of their school year and graduation. Their last challenges include marathons, yearbook photos, a performance of Romeo and Juliet and the band's last school performance together.

Manga will also release the tenth box-set of One Piece, carrying episodes 230 to 252 of the series.

Eureka Entertainment will release the live-action 'battle-rap musical' manga adaptation Tokyo Tribe. The film is written-directed by Shion Sono (Suicide Club, Love Exposure, Himizu, All Esper Dayo!). The home release will contain the following extras: a Feature-length behind-the-scenes documentary, and a booklet featuring critical writing on the film and behind-the-scenes photography.

The film takes place in the near future in Tokyo where rival street gangs fight each other for turf. When the rivalry between two of the gangs gets more personal, the fighting turns into an all-out war. The film stars Ryōhei Suzuki (HK/Hentai Kamen) as Bukuro Wu-Ronz gang leader Mera and hip-hop artist YOUNG DAIS as Kai in the rival gang Musashino Saru. Japanese-American hip-hop artist and singer AI performs the theme song "HOPE -TOKYO TRIBE ANTHEM" with fellow artists YOUNG DAIS, SIMON, and Y'S. Madhouse adapted the same manga series into the 13-episode Tokyo Tribe 2 anime series in 2006.
