Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie Released Monday

Also second volume of Golden Time and fourth season of The Familiar of Zero

On Monday May 9, Manga Entertainment will release Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie on both Blu-ray and DVD. The movie begins with Motoko Kusanagi and her team members dealing with a hostage situation at an embassy. Behind the scenes, however, they come across the Fire Starter virus, and the sniper Saitō spots a shocking figure who holds the key to the crisis. Meanwhile, another crisis erupts.

Kazuchika Kise (Ghost in the Shell Arise chief director) served as chief director at Production I.G, and also designed the characters. Tow Ubukata (Ghost in the Shell Arise screenplay) handled the screenplay, and Cornelius scored the film's music. Kazuya Nomura (Robotics;Notes, Sengoku Basara - Samurai Kings: The Movie director) served as director, and Tooru Ookubo (Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex key animation) took the position of chief animation director.

The film features the cast from Ghost in the Shell Arise, with voice talents Maaya Sakamoto, Ikkyuu Juku, Kenichirō Matsuda, Tarusuke Shingaki, Shunsuke Sakuya, Takurou Nakakuni, Youji Ueda, Kazuya Nakai and Miyuki Sawashiro.

Animatsu will release the second volume of the series Golden Time on both Blu-ray and DVD, carrying parts 13 to 24. The school romantic comedy of Golden Time revolves around Banri Tada, a college student who lost all of his memories before his high school graduation. The story follows Banri, Kōko Kaga (a girl whose seemingly perfect looks belies her hidden regrets), Kōko's significant other Mitsuo Yanagisawa, and other students at Banri's college in Tokyo.

MVM will release the fourth season of The Familiar of Zero on both Blu-ray and DVD.
