SNK Reports Recovery From Previous Year's Loss With Net Profit of 3 Billion Yen

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Company had incurred 558 million yen loss last year

SNK revealed its financial statement from the period of August 2016 to July 2017 on Tuesday. The company reported total sales of 4.281 billion yen (about US$37.8 million), an increase compared to the 3.203 billion yen (about US$28.2 million) sales from the same period last year.

The company also reported an ordinary income of 1.986 billion yen (about US$17.5 million), an increase from last year's 1.317 billion yen (about US$11.6 million), and a net profit of 3.105 billion yen (about US$27.4 million), an increase from its 558 million yen (about US$4.93 million) loss last year.

SNK is currently operating as part of holding company Ledo Millennium Co., Ltd. (a holding company of Leyou Technologies, which acquired an 81.25 percent stake in SNK's shares in 2015). SNK (then SNK Playmore) withdrew from the pachislot industry in 2015 to refocus on its smartphone/consumer game development and licensing of its intellectual property. The company changed its name from SNK Playmore back to its previous SNK name in November 2016.

The company released its The King of Fighters XIV game, its first installment in the long-running fighting game series in more than half a decade, on PlayStation 4 in 2016.
