NIS America released the game with the title Touhou Genso Wanderer on March 21 in North America and March 24 in Europe, after being delayed from its original February release dates. The game has a PS4 and PS Vita version.

The PS4 version Maihama Sōmakyō will add a new tutorial and practice mode, as well as new playable characters, bosses, scenarios, and voiced lines.

souvenir circ released the original game for the PC in 2012. The 2D horizontal shooting game allows players to take control of a character and go through the game's story mode, fighting characters from the Touhou franchise in an arena. Players are able to use the familiar bullet patterns of the characters, while evading the bullets of their opponent.
