Upgraded ports of series' 1st 2 games announced

Nihon Falcom announced and opened an official website on Thursday for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II: Kai -The Erebonian Civil War-, a PlayStation 4 of its The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II game. The game will ship in Japan on April 26.

The port will offer a 60fps frame rate and 4K support. It has added upgraded background music and a "high-speed skip mode" for the story.

The release will include 102 pieces of downloadable content originally released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel I. The game is compatible with save data from the PS3 and PS Vita versions, so players can pick up where they left off. It is also compatible with save data from The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III to unlock bonuses in such as costumes, max Bonding Points, and 300,000 Mira. Players who import clear data from The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel I: Kai -Thors Military Academy 1204- for PS4 or The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel for PS3 or PS Vita can receive a bonus in the game.

Nihon Falcom announced in November that it will release The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel I: Kai -Thors Military Academy 1204-, a PS4 port of its The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel game, on March 8 in Japan. The game will be a similar remaster with the same added features as The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II: Kai -The Erebonian Civil War-. The company had announced earlier in November that it planned to release The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel and The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II for PS4 during the current fiscal year.

Nihon Falcom also noted that its Sen no Kiseki (Trails of Cold Steel) series has more than one million copies in print.

The first The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel game shipped in Japan for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in September 2013. XSEED released the game in North America for both consoles in December 2015, and NIS America released the game in Europe for both consoles in January 2016. XSEED Games also released a PC version of the game on August 1. This version added more than 5,000 new voiced dialogue lines, which is about a 50% increase compared to the PS3 and PS Vita versions.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II shipped in Japan for the PS3 and PS Vita in September 2014. XSEED Games released the sequel in North America for both consoles in September 2016, while NIS America released it in Europe for both consoles last November.

The The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III PlayStation 4 "story role-playing game" shipped in Japan on September 28. The game is the latest sequel in the Trails of Cold Steel role-playing game series, which is set in the same world as the company's other Kiseki (Trails) series games.
