King Amusement Creative announced at its convention on Wednesday that it will launch Classic ★ Starts as its second "music and heartpounding crossover project" following Uta no Prince-sama. Noriyasu Agematsu is credited with planning, and he will return to oversee the project and produce the music. Unison, Broccoli, and King Records are credited with the original concept. "Rekidai Classic no Ongakuka-tachi" (Classical Musicians of History) and Elements Garden will produce the music.
The tagline in the press release reads, "Would you give a kiss that transcends time to musicians of history? The world's newest, with classical music."
The Uta no Prince-sama franchise (pictured right) began as a romance visual novel series by Broccoli and Nippon Ichi Software, with the first game in the series released on the PlayStation Portable in 2010. The franchise has inspired four anime seasons, and an anime film is slated for 2019.
