Maria Watches Over Us Novels Have 20th Anniversary Project in the Works

posted on by Karen Ressler

The official Twitter account for Shueisha's Cobalt imprint and magazine announced on Wednesday that a new project for Oyuki Konno's Maria Watches Over Us (Maria-sama ga Miteru) is in the works for the novel series' 20th anniversary. The Twitter account promised to update when more information becomes available.

The imprint is also releasing second editions of the novel volumes.

The light novels follow the personal relationships within the student body of Lillian Girls' Academy. Shueisha published the first novel in the series in 1998 with illustrations by Reine Hibiki, and the series ran for 38 volumes. The novels inspired four anime seasons, which Nozomi Entertainment released in North America.
