Manga adapts fantasy light novel about girl investigator and supernatural bodyguard

Seven Seas Entertainment announced on Wednesday that it has licensed Keishi Ayasato and Kōichirō Hoshino's Mythical Beast Investigator (Genjū Chōsain) manga. The first volume is slated for print and digital release on July 9, 2019.

Seven Seas describes the story:

In a dangerous land where fantastical creatures exist, humans must live beside dragons and other supernatural monsters. That's where Mythical Beast Investigators like Ferry come in. Ferry might look like a young girl, but she has extensive knowledge of magical creatures and dreams of creating peace between humankind and monsters. With her otherworldly bodyguard Kushuna by her side, Ferry will work to calm any conflict, no matter where that takes her!

Kadokawa published Ayasato's (B.A.D. Beyond Another Darkness) original Genjū Chōsen light novel with illustrations by lack in June 2016. Hoshino (Gnosis March, MÄR Ω) began the manga adaptation on Kadokawa's Comic Clear web manga site in August 2017. Kadokawa released the second compiled volume of the manga on September 15 in Japan.
