Kadokawa Plans to Establish 'IP Creation Structure' in Southeast Asia

Company plans to develop original IP, expand BL media mix through Gempak Starz, Amarin
Kadokawa noted in its financial results document for the fiscal year 2021 on May 12 that as part of the company's mid-term plan for the new fiscal year, it is aiming to establish an "IP creation structure" in Southeast Asia.
The section mentions the company's plan to develop original IP and and the media mix of boys love comics. The company mentioned its publishing partnership with Malaysian publisher Gempak Starz in regards to the original IP, and mentioned its publishing partnership with Thai publisher Amarin Printing and Publishing in regards to its media mix of boys love comics.
The effort will be a part of Kadokawa's larger effort to "create hit IPs" in overseas partnerships.
