Tales of Xillia Remastered launches on October 31

Bandai Namco Entertainment announced on Tuesday Tales of Xillia Remastered, an enhanced version of the 2011 Tales of Xillia game. The game will launch for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on October 31. The company streamed an announcement trailer:

The company also shared a video message from producer Yusuke Tomizawa:

The remaster adds auto-save and early access to the Grade Shop, among other quality-of-life changes. It also includes DLC from the original game, such as costumes and bonus items. The game uses the Dual Raid Linear Motion Battle System for real-time combat.

Bandai Namco describes the story:

In Tales of Xillia Remastered, players will dive into the magnificent world of Rieze Maxia where humans and spirits coexist in harmony. Players can choose to follow the story of Milla Maxwell, a mysterious woman accompanied by four powerful spirits, or Jude Mathis, and aspiring medical student from the capital. Their paths soon converge as they uncover a dangerous secret: the kingdom of Rashugal is using a weapon that drains mana, threatening the balance of the entire world. Determined to stop the destruction and restore balance, Milla and Jude embark on a daring quest to destroy the device and save their world.

Tales of Xillia Remastered commemorates the franchise's 30th anniversary. The original game commemorated the franchise's 15th anniversary.

Tales of Xillia debuted for PlayStation 3 in Japan in September 2011 and in the West in August 2013. The Tales of Xillia 2 sequel game launched for PS3 in November 2012 and in the West in August 2014.
