The Elbaph arc debuts in Japan on April 5.
Toei Animation and One Piece anime producer Ryūta Koike announced on October 28 that the anime is reducing its annual episode output to a maximum of 26 episodes moving forward starting in 2026. Following the conclusion of the Egghead arc last year, the anime is taking a three-month production hiatus from January-March 2026. The anime will return in April 2026 for the first of two cours (quarters of a year) with the start of the new Elbaph arc.
According to Toei Animation, the new schedule will allow episodes to "incorporate more content, tempo, and pacing of the manga while continuing to leverage the unique storytelling that is only possible with animation." Historically, with only few exceptions, the anime has aired most weeks since its premiere in 1999. However, the pace has slowed considerably over the years.
The Egghead arc in the anime debuted in January 2024 and Crunchyroll began streaming it in India in April 2024. Crunchyroll added episodes 892-1077 of the anime in India in September 2023 and began streaming episode 1078 onwards from October 2023.
The ongoing anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga premiered in 1999.
Netflix added the 2014 special edition of the 2008 One Piece: Episode of Chopper + Fuyu ni Saku, Kiseki no Sakura anime film, the One Piece: Strong World anime film, and the One Piece Film Z anime in India in early 2024. The streaming service added the One Piece Film Gold anime movie in India in January 2024. It added the One Piece Film Red anime in India in December 2023. The film opened in India in October 2022.
Voice actors Kappei Yamaguchi (voice of Usopp) and Hiroaki Hirata (voice of Sanji) attended Mumbai Comic Con as part of the anime's cast in April 2024.
