ComicsOne Announces New Manga

TWO NEW MANGA TITLES FROM COMICSONE!

San Jose, CA – June 23, 2004 ComicsOne brings two new manga titles to the U.S. – Yu Aikawa's zombie-infested Dark Edge and Towa Oshima's humorous real-life chronicles in High School Girls.

As the summer winds down, this is what you can expect from ComicsOne:

Dark Edge - After his mother's death, Kuro Takagi transfers to Yotsuji Private High School where his father is the proprietor. But Yotsuji is no ordinary school. It holds a strange rule of “No students on campus after dark!” On his first day of attendance, Kuro and his classmates inadvertently break the school's highest protocol and find themselves victims of a faculty zombie attack. Although they manage to narrowly escape, this is but a prelude to more encounters with the undead, especially after Kuro discover his own blood-ties and latent zombie abilities. From there, it's full steam ahead as this dark and intense action/comedy shifts into high gear.

If the questionable eating habits of the undead sound a bit too morbid then ComicsOne's High School Girls will shed some light and levity onto your literary pallet, with…

…a hilariously hip account of life at an all-girls private high school. As the classmates come of age we witness their search for love, sexual controversy and the rivalry between cliques. Eriko and her two best friends – Yuma and Ayano are excited to enter the more sophisticated realm of higher learning. However they soon find out that life without a constant male presence isn't quite as sophisticated as they thought. The vulgarity and cleanliness they hoped to escape, emerges in full force when the all-female student body lets it all hang out!

“This is a truly rare glimpse at how life in an all-girls school plays out, and it is far from 'sugar and spice and everything nice,' says ComicsOne Editor in Chief – Shawn Sanders. Based on the author's own real life experiences this is one manga you don't want to miss. If you enjoyed the drama in "Heathers" and "Clueless" you'll love High School Girls!
