Beckett Anime for Girls Offers Princess Ai Sneak Peak

Beckett Anime For Girls offers exclusive sneak peak of Courtney Love's
new manga title, Princess Ai

DALLAS (July 12, 2005) - Rock icon, acclaimed actress and now manga
author. Courtney Love adds the latter bullet-point to her resume in
August with the release of Tokoyopop's Princess Ai: Illumination. But fans
will get an exclusive sneak peek at the graphic novel when the
August/September Beckett Anime For Girls hits newsstands later this week.

"We are delighted to offer our readers this preview," said Beckett
Anime For Girls Editorial Director Doug Kale. "Courtney Love's involvement
should bring manga to new readers. I've seen the completed book and it
just looks fantastic. The issue marks the 1,000 release for Tokoyopop,
an incredible milestone by an incredible company."

In addition to the Princess Ai preview, the 74-page issue of Beckett
Anime For Girls also includes stories on "20 Ways To Meet Guys And Girls
Who Are Into Anime" and "Anime Goes Hollywood," a look at celebrities
who would make perfect casting choices for potential anime-based
live-action movies. So who should fill which roles? Here's a taste of what
Beckett's editorial staff thinks:

David Beckham as Sesshomaru
"According to our study group, the guy for this role is Britain's
brightest soccer star, David Beckham. Now, while soccer doesn't exactly
prepare one for a career in acting, it does hone your hand eye
coordination. And coordination would be quite helpful for acting out the ultimate
clash between brothers, which would be obligatory for a live action
InuYasha film."

Jesse McCartney as Edward Elric
"And now for the part of the vertically challenged Fullmetal
Alchemist! Votes for this one ranged everywhere from Jake Lloyd to Haley Joel
Osment, but it was Summerland's singing surfer boy, Jesse McCartney, who
landed the role."

Elijah Wood as Yuki
"There is one particular trait outside of his acting skills that makes
Elijah perfect for the part. He's got those big baby blue eyes sure to
melt many a girl's heart.
