The Pillows in Seattle

For Immediate Release: June, 2006

The Stereo Future Presents

Japanese Rockers THE PILLOWS

@ the Crocodile Café, Saturday, June 24

Early Show, ALL AGES!!!

The Stereo Future is pleased to announce the return of Japanese friends The Pillows to the Crocodile Café on June 24 for the much-anticipated follow-up to their Seattle debut last year. And there's good news for younger Pillows fans: unlike last year, this year's show will be all-ages!

The Pillows have built a sizeable audience in their native Japan with their up-tempo rock and high-energy live shows over the course of their 15-year career. In the US they're best known for providing the soundtrack to Gainax's FLCL anime, which has found a home as part of the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim lineup. Last year, The Pillows and compatriots (the pop-rock trio Noodles) came to the US on the Delicious Bump tour, which included a stop at the Crocodile with The Stereo Future. This year The Pillows are touring in support of their recent release, My Foot, on Japanese label King Records.

The Stereo Future has been entertaining Seattle audiences since 2004 and in 2005, captured their adventurous, electronic-punctuated pop stylings on their first CD, Young People. Last November, Pillows lead singer Yamanaka Sawao and his Delicious Label hosted the lads in Japan. While there, The Stereo Future and Pillows guitarist Manabe recorded GRIT, an EP scheduled for release this summer, and played capacity shows in Tokyo and Osaka with label-mates Noodles.
