Leading Japanese animator, Naoyoshi Shiotani, will give a short talk before the screening.

New York- In cooperation with Fuji Television Network, Inc. and Production I.G, Fujisankei Communications International, Inc. will organize the New York premiere screening of a new 3DCG animation film entitled “Oblivion Island: Haruku and the Magic Mirror” on Friday, October 30, 2009.

Where do our childhood's treasures disappear when we grow up? This is the universal message of this film which reminds us how we tend to abandon even the most precious objects and memories as time goes by. But in this story, a young girl named Haruka finds where they all go... And for the first time, an Asian Alice takes us to the other side of the mirror!
In creating a visualization of this concept, the movie, “Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror,” incorporates the unique expressive style that has made Japanese animation hugely popular around the globe, while at the same time presenting a completely different texture from Western style 3DCG animation. Production I.G's 3D team in collaboration with Fuji Television Network has taken a fresh departure from 3DCG animation as we know it today after 4 years in the development. The film will entertain you with the heart-warming visuals that are the trademark of new Japanese animation.

On the day of the event, the animation director, Mr. Naoyoshi Shiotani, will talk “behind the scenes” before the general screening.
