Iron Horse Cinema to Release a Fan-Made Cowboy Bebop Live-Action Project
NY, NY – Feb. 2016 – Iron Horse Cinema continues to roll along with exciting fan films, and February 29th will see the release of special Cowboy Bebop project. The team has brought the legendary anime series right off the celluloid and into the digital 21st century in the form of a live action trailer.
In the current era of Superhero films, more and more pop culture is being developed into live action blockbusters. Iron Horse Cinema, being huge fans of Cowboy Bebop, ambitiously shot a visually stunning trailer to capture what the anime series would be like in real life. Utilizing YouTube Space NY and the New York City's own Chinatown streets, the indie film crew was able to balance practical effects, CGI, and Bebop's anime essence. Note the energetic and familiar jazz score while the main character Spike narrates the trailer's intro.
In the role of “Spike” is Patrick Hamilton who also appeared as the bounty hunter in Iron Horse Cinema's Star Wars: The Lesser Evil (Kathleen Kennedy Spirit Award Winner). Also returning from The Lesser Evil is frequent Iron Horse collaborator Steve Komito as “Jet Black”. Izzy Grey marks her first appearance with the film team as “Faye Valetine”, and Loren Giron returns in the role of “Ed”. Also appearing are Krista Robelle as “Judy”, Eric Orman as “Vicious”, Ian Peterson as “Oliver Francisco”, and Sarah Mercey playing a Chinatown resident. As this project is a trailer, director Sy Cody White hopes the response will generate enough excitement for the demand of a scripted short film.
