AnimeJapan 2017 Opening Announcement

AnimeJapan Organization announces opening of AnimeJapan 2017 and Family Anime Festa, both to be held at Tokyo Big Sight in March 2017.

“AnimeJapan 2016” has ended in great success (135,323 attendees, 149 exhibitors in Main Area and 43 in Business Area). “AnimeJapan 2017” will improve even further. With the size of the Main Area increased by 30% due to the newly built East Hall 7 and 2 weekdays dedicated strictly for Business Area, AnimeJapan 2017 will be the largest in history.
Family Anime Festa 2017 will switch to a new location in the new built East Hall 8, unlike in 2016 (10,325 attendees) when we used part of the AnimeJapan venue.

Starting from Monday, October 3rd 2016, we will be accepting the exhibitor applications for AnimeJapan 2017 [Main Area / Business Area] and Family Anime Festa 2017.

Please stay tuned for Japan's largest anime event “AnimeJapan 2017” and “Family Anime Festa 2017”, both to showcase Japan's top-leading anime companies and organization.

AnimeJapan 2017 Overview
AnimeJapan 2017 will consist of “Main Area”, “Creation Area” and “Business Area” just as last year, to meet different needs of the attendees.

Main Area [East Exhibition Halls 1-7] Overview
Main Area hosts Japan's leading anime-related companies/organizations. They will display various contents in their unique booths. Stage programs, exhibitions, and organizer's projects will also be more appealing than AJ2016, to satisfy all of our visitors from Japan and overseas.

■Organizers Project
More sophisticated and advanced programs full of entertainment will be presented from organizers in Main Area [East Exhibition Hall 1-7]

• RGB Stage: RGB Stage is a reservation-only stage program, divided into Red (max 1,500 audiences), Green (1,000), and Blue (500) Stages. News release for the upcoming anime, talk shows, concerts, various stage programs will be there.
  *You must apply for a stage-viewing lottery.
• Open Stage: This stage program is opened to the public for free. It will present some unique events, release for the upcoming anime, talk-shows, and many more.
  *Sitting-space in front of the audience seats is advance application/lottery-only.
• Food Park: Food Park, a popular feature from AnimeJapan 2016 will be held again. Please look forward to our warm, delicious and original AnimeJapan menu!
• Cosplayer's World: Cosplayer's World was a popular feature in AnimeJapan 2016. For those who love cosplay across the world, we will provide you with space and programs that will entertain you to the fullest.
• Official Goods (Traditional Craft Collaborations & AJ Gachapon): We will present cross-industrial collaborations such as “Traditional Japanese Crafts & Anime”. For AJ Gachapon, you will be able to purchase, at random, AJ original-designed pins with a variety of different pictures, from popular series to the latest ones.
• Anime-Collaboration Exhibition: Together with premium cross-industrial collaborations with anime we will display already existing collaborations that serve as a landmark for the future of the animation business.

Creation Area (Opened to the public in Main Aria) Overview
Creation Area, one of the popular features in AnimeJapan 2016, will once again be held inside the Main Area. To present the appeal and significance of anime production, we will open a gallery to showcase actual production materials.

■Organizers Project Seminar Stage: Two types of programs will be offered. Creator Workshop: a workshop in which top creators will give you face-to-face advices. Business Seminar: a seminar useful for business attendees and entertaining for regular attendees, opened to anyone and free of charge.

• Production Works Gallery: We are opening a gallery that displays actual production materials. This is going to be a display that will inspire you for creating anime.

In order to advance the business side of anime, AnimeJapan 2017 will hold the Business Area in the Reception Hall, Conference Tower. This time, this section will be held for two days straight during the weekdays. It will ensure a more accommodating environment for both attendees and exhibitor for the sake of commercial opportunities.

■Organizers Project
More attractive and improved organizer's project are planned, to ensure satisfaction for all domestic and overseas visitors that relate to Japanese anime business. More appealing agenda will be presented.

• Anime Business Concierge: Anime Business Concierge will be hosted in Business Area for inquiries on anime business. For those who are aiming at collaboration with anime, we will be ready for a wide variety of questions.
  Business Seminar *Opened to the public in Creation Area: Business Seminar offers lectures on anime business. This stage is both useful for business attendees and entertaining for the regular attendees as well.

Family Anime Festa 2017 Overview
Admission is free, not only for elementary children and under, but also for their guardians. For the attendees' safety and comfort, it is a family-only venue with its own admission gate just like last year. Different than last year, when we held the event inside the AnimeJapan venue, the entire East Hall 8 will now be used as the venue.

• Family Food Park: Delicious and fun to see! Check out our special menu! An area to sit and relax too!
• Kid's Workshop station: Let's make anime-original goods! Let's try making anime!

• Character Greeting: Let's take a picture with your favorite characters!
