Aaron Guzikowski to Write an Animated Death Stranding Film
June 11th, 2025 — KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS and LINE MILEAGE announce acclaimed screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski (Raised by Wolves, Prisoners) will write a new adult animated feature film set in the universe of Hideo Kojima's groundbreaking video game, DEATH STRANDING.
Currently in active development, the feature is the latest in a wave of ambitious, adult-targeted animated genre films, following projects like the John Wick animated feature and Predator: Killer of Killers. This film will chart a bold, original story within the surreal and emotionally resonant world Hideo Kojima created.
Guzikowski, known for his cerebral and emotionally charged science fiction storytelling, brings the perfect voice to animation's next frontier. His work on Raised by Wolves and Prisoners has been praised for blending philosophical depth with gripping genre craft — a natural fit for the rich, haunting world of DEATH STRANDING.

The game, released in 2019, has captivated over 20 million players worldwide, blending cinematic ambition, metaphysical mystery, and emotional connection. With performances from Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Guillermo del Toro and more, it has redefined what a game can feel like — and now it becomes the foundation for a wholly new animated vision, with a sequel video game adding Elle Fanning to the mix set for a June 26th release.
