Izanagi Games Releases Extended Steam® Demo for Dark Auction Ahead of January 28 Launch

New demo includes over 3 hours of gameplay, the end of chapter 1 and the shrouded-in-mystery auction content.

TOKYO – January 22^nd - IzanagiGames, Inc. and Good Smile Company, Inc. announced today that the Steam® free demo for the mystery adventure game "Dark Auction" has been updated. The playable scope now allows users to play through to the end of Chapter 1, including the auction part, offering a substantial volume of approximately 3 hours. Additionally, a PlayStation®5 free demo is scheduled for release on January 28th.

The free demo, which was previously available up to the end of the prologue, has been updated to be playable through the end of Chapter 1! The auction part, which was shrouded in mystery, is now playable.

About "Dark Auction"

This is a new "authentic mystery adventure game" featuring an original story and scenario by Rika Suzuki ("Another Code," "Hotel Dusk: Room 215") and character design by Kohske (manga "GANGSTA."). Music is composed by Yuko Komiyama (Monster Hunter series) and Tsukasa Masuko (Megami Tensei series). Scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch™, Steam®, and PlayStation®5 on January 29, 2026.

STORY

1981, a certain country in Europe.

18-year-old Noah, living with the memory of being abandoned by his mother as a child, lives with his father, Leonardo, an unsuccessful novelist obsessed with collecting items related to "Dictator X."

Although Noah wishes his father would stop this strange collecting, Leonardo refuses to quit, no matter how much financial trouble they are in.

One day, Leonardo receives an invitation to an auction. Ignoring Noah's objections, Leonardo heads to the venue, an old castle, leaving behind a promise to tell him everything when he returns.

When his father doesn't return on the scheduled day and cannot be contacted, Noah goes to the old castle to retrieve him, but there, Noah witnesses a shocking sight.

Eventually trapped in the old castle with the other auction participants, Noah accepts the Auctioneer's invitation and participates in this bizarre auction.
