Renowned JapanMusic Vocaloid Comes to Anime Expo 2026
Free Concert for Anime Expo Attendees Will Feature kz (livetune), Satapan-P, TeddyLoid, Hachiōji-P and picco
Los Angeles, California – Anime Expo, the largest celebration of Japanese pop culture in North America, is leveling up the music lineup for its 2026 show with the debut of “JAPAN MUSIC VOCALOID” brought to you by Dwango, a Japanese company operating digital content services including the video platform Niconicoon, on July 4, one of the largest anime conventions in the world, held in Los Angeles.
Leading the lineup are kz (livetune) and Hachiōji-P, two influential creators who helped define the Vocaloid sound in the late 2000s with a fusion of club energy and pop sensibility. They are joined by special appearance TeddyLoid, a globally recognized producer known for high-impact tracks across anime, games and hits for artists including Ado and DAOKO.
The new guard of Vocaloid are represented by a pair of artists approaching the style in drastically different ways, Satapan-P and picco. Satapan-P mutates the technology into something frantic, always able to create catchy melodies underneath the frenzied sounds he works up, while picco's, self-described “Hyper Kawaii Music” blends house influence with colorful, upbeat production. Together, they showcase how the style continues to change and grow nearly two decades after its debut.
Dwango is currently promoting the “Young Creator Discovery and Global Expansion Project through Niconico-led Initiatives,” supported by the Creator Support Fund. This project aims to nurture emerging creators involved in vocaloid music into globally influential talents. This event is part of that initiative. Moving forward, Dwango will continue to expand opportunities for creators to connect across borders with fans, production partners, and clients by participating in influential events worldwide, while fostering community building, resource sharing and networking.
'JAPAN MUSIC VOCALOID' will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center and is included with the purchase of an Anime Expo 2026 credential. Please visit anime-expo.org for details.
