It looks like I've triggered an algorithm that has identified me as someone who consistently tries to manipulate the percentages either up or down. Oh, well.....
I try to add enlightening commentary, but let's face it:
I'm far from perfect.

What with the "Brotherhood" remake now airing on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block, I've decided to revisit the original anime..... "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy’s First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world’s one, and only, truth. But the world isn’t perfect, and the law is incomplete. Equivalent Exchange doesn’t encompass everything that goes on here, but I still choose to believe in its principle: that all things do come at a price, that there’s an ebb and a flow, a cycle, that the pain we went through did have a reward, and that anyone who’s determined and perseveres will get something of value in return, even if it’s not what they expected. I don’t think of Equivalent Exchange as a law of the world anymore. I think of it as a promise between my brother and me.The animation is well done. The original soundtrack is excellent; and here, I'd like to compare the OST with what is not found in U.S. OSTs. There is a song ("Bratja", or "Brothers") that is sung in Russian and basically offers the backstory of the Elric Brothers. How many U.S. movies/series would commission a foreign-language song? Here is a translation of the lyrics: ↓There is a synergy in FMA that is achieved by the series getting all of the elements just right. ↑ |
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (TV) | Excellent SakuraFox512 |
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie - Conqueror of Shamballa | Decent |
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos (movie) | Decent (dub & sub) |
Fusé: Memoirs of a Huntress (movie) | Excellent Memories of the Hunter Girl

Futsū no Joshikōsei ga Locodol Yattemita (OAV) |
|
Ga-Rei-Zero (TV) | Good (dub), Excellent (sub)

Galaxy Express 999 (movie) | Excellent (dub), Masterpiece (sub) ↓

Galaxy Express 999: Eternal Fantasy (movie) | Decent For the life of me, I cannot figure out what this movie is supposed to be about. Is it supposed to be a Part #1? I'm rating it at 7/11. |
Galaxy Express 999: Glass no Clair (movie) | Good The trauma that Tetsuro feels is real, but how does a delusion physically kill somebody? That doesn't make sense to me. Rating it at 8/11. |
(The) Galaxy Railways (TV) | Decent (dub), Good (sub) OK, so what does if for me is my feeling that the ending is a bit underwhelming. Really, the alleged antagonists really needed much more character development than what they actually got. I really did want to rate this series higher. I think that the key to enjoying this series is being able to suspend disbelief about a steam locomotive (with an atomic reactor?!) travelling through outer space (personally, I think that it is a rather cool concept!). |
(The) Garden of Sinners (movie series) | Masterpiece
Alan recommends a non-chronological release watching order.....
