Kazuya Minekura also resumes Saiyuki Reload Blast fantasy adventure manga

The May issue of Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine is announcing on Wednesday that a special edition release of the Saiyuki Gaiden original video anime (OVA) series has been green-lit. There will also be Saiyuki Character Books: one for the characters Sanzō and Gokū on April 25, and another for Gojo and Hakkai on May 25. The newest Saiyuki art collection book, salty-dog VII, will go on sale as well.

More details about Saiyuki's new media projects will be revealed in future issues of Monthly Comic Zero-Sum and the official Saiyuki Gaiden website.

The original three-volume Saiyuki Gaiden anime adapted Kazuya Minekura's fantasy adventure manga of the same name, which ended in Monthly Comic Zero-Sum in 2009. The May issue of the magazine features the return of Minekura's Saiyuki Reload Blast manga after a hiatus due to surgery. The issue bundles a bonus deluxe booklet titled Saiyuki Reload Blast: Sky Burial.
