I just received both part 1 and 2 that I've watched the episodes immediately. The blu ray boxes are nicely setup and the work on the HD anime is worth it. The only flaw is the anime is not setup in widescreen 16:9 but can probably be fixed playing that on a computer with gom or any full screen video player stretching the image perfectly. Superb sound and video quality on release BR 1 and BR 2 so far, so I'm looking forward to receive BR 3 in december.

I would have loved a limited edition Blu Ray for Twelve Kingdoms as it is my favorite of the genre. Still thumbs up they did a great job with the art and all the content overall.

4 stars out of 5
-0.5 for not being widescreen 16:9
-0.5 for the lack of limited first press or special editions at release.

Dak

On another note, the Slayers DVD/Blu Ray set and DVD complete series season 1-3 is another amazing value.

The show was animated & aired in 4:3 so it's not a flaw at all. Not all anime released on Blu-ray in HD are 16:9.

Why would you want to distort the image just to make it widescreen? Nice way to ruin a perfectly good show Rolling Eyes .

I like it better in widescreen and because it did no harm to the video quality using GOM. Trust me, I watched this show over and again already and the feeling is not the same while watching the story in 16:9 and in 4:3 but if it did make the graphics blah i wouldn't have in the first place =p

When the originial aspect ratio is 4:3 I watch it in 4:3-ditto for 16:9-doing anything else fucks up the picture.
